My Nephew

My nephew, J'son, has been diagnosed with two forms of leukemia. I'm not certain which two types they are but from all reports, the situation is merely dire and not terminal. He will be undergoing weekly treatments for the foreseeable future. To everyone that reads this blog, I ask that you all donate blood. J'son has already had two blood transfusions with the possibility of several more. What's better, for those of you that live in oklahoma, if you tell them when you donate that you want your donation to go for J'son Hough, they will reserve a pint of blood specifically for him (it's doubtful that your actual blood will be used for his transfusion). And, for everyone that has a child of their own or one in the family, make sure you give them a big hug every chance you get. You never know if you'll have another opportunity to give them another.

Our thoughts are with J'Son and your family, Trav.

I donate blood regularly. Blood donations saved my Mom's life a few years ago, and I've been a regular donor since. It's relatively easy, and they even monitor my cholesterol for me! If you haven't donated in a while, give it a try. Many phlebotomists are so good that you can barely feel the needle.
